4/3/2023 0 Comments Ampps ubuntu mint![]() ![]() It's been 4 or 5 years, but I've done it. So I thought, what the heck, I've got my own MySQL and PHP 7 as part of Ubuntu 16.04. Opening the ini files routes through WINE, and open in a version of notepad. Numerous postings to their support system and forum got me nowhere, so I came here. Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress. I figured out how to switch it to PHP 7, whereupon Wordpress informed me that: However, the default version of PHP was 5.5, which a great many apps (maybe the majority) reported back through the ampps dashboard that they couldn't use. This thing bundles over 400 programs in a self contained LAMP. I wanted to set up a local Wordpress, so I went to a 'one-click' solution called ampps. I have had no use for Apache, PHP, or MySQL on this setup until now. It is dual boot with Windows, and I've been using this setup since 16.04 came out. I am on Ubuntu 16.04 on a 64bit Dell 1820. However, at any point, if you feel like you do not need XAMPP on your Linux system anymore, then you can always uninstall it.I want to thank you in advance if you manage to get all the way through this post and give me some ideas. Just go with the default selected components and click on the Next button as highlighted in the following image: The welcome screen of XAMPP is shown in the image below:Īfter clicking the Next button on the welcome screen, you will be asked to select the components for XAMPP. However, we have still shown all the screens below for your convenience. For making this file executable, you need to navigate to your Downloads directory and then execute the command stated below: Once the XAMPP file has been downloaded on your system, you need to make it executable so that it can be installed successfully. Step # 3: Making the Downloaded File Executable: When you will click on the “Download” button, a dialogue box will appear on your screen from which you are supposed to select the “Save” option and then click on the “OK” button.Īfter doing this, XAMPP will start downloading and when it has been downloaded successfully, you will see the following message on your browser: Once you will visit this website, you need to download the latest version of XAMPP for Linux as highlighted in the image shown below: Now you need to visit the following website for downloading XAMPP: Step # 2: Downloading XAMPP via the Internet: ![]() Since the net-tools package was already installed on our system that is why we got the message shown in the image below on our terminal: ![]()
